Dad, 45, dies in Magaluf after getting lost & separated from wife

A father of four who collapsed and died on a street in Magaluf in the early hours of Monday morning will be “forever loved by his heartbroken” family.

Michael Grant, 45, was discovered unresponsive near the Punta Bellena strip in the Spanish hotspot in the early hours of Monday morning. It is now believed that the physiotherapist had become separated from his wife Leanne while on a night out and was lost when tragedy struck.

Michael, who was also an Irish youth soccer coach, was on holiday in Magaluf with his wife and their four children, along with other Irish families. It is understood that he was staying at a family-friendly resort nearby but became separated from the group and became disoriented.

He then collapsed while crossing Martin Ros Garcia Street.

A security guard alerted local police after witnessing him collapse and despite attempts to revive him at the scene, he was pronounced dead shortly after. Michael’s body lay on the street for several hours as police launched an investigation.
